Feedback Loop Competency

Feedback is often seen as a way to correct behaviour and address below-par performance. However, it is much more than communicating improvements. For this reason, most working professionals, managers and direct reports lack specific vocabulary, clear evaluation standards, and proven methods to solicit and give feedback effectively.  Feedback loop competency equips individuals and teams with the tools, language, and habits to initiate, solicit, and receive feedback with confidence, and to embed it in daily work.

Our Philosophy

  • A Cultural Bedrock

A continuous routine to review and adjust our performance is the foundation of a thriving, collaborative work culture.

  • A Conversational Habit

Feedback must be multi-directional and spontaneous, like daily conversations at work, and everyone can be eloquent in it.

  • Beyond Compliance

We seek to demystify and expand the notion of feedback as a transactional, compliance-driven cadence.

  • A Growth Strategy

A feedback loop is a strategic tool in supporting individuals' and organisations' growth and development.

Why Feedback Loop Competency Matters?

According to a Harvard Business School study, 96% of professionals believe feedback is important, but only 26% found the feedback they received genuinely useful. Separately, IE Business School found that an equally high proportion of its interviewers (93%) value feedback, yet only 31% of them admitted to actually giving feedback to their direct reports. IE Business School's findings align with Gallup and other workplace research bodies, which consistently find a gap between people who claim to give feedback frequently and the meagre 20% of employees who report receiving feedback weekly. All these findings boil down to a well-recognised problem at work: most professionals still lack the language, structure, and eloquence to solicit and give feedback, and even worse, they carry misconceptions that lead them to ineffective feedback practices.
